In your role as a Regional Painter & Decorator at HC-One you will undertake painting and decorating duties in order to present the homes to the highest standards helping HC-One to become the First Choice Care Home in the community. Maintaining a clean, safe and homely environment to meet the needs of Residents and Colleagues. You will be responsive and flexible as the needs of the Homes change.
You will report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Resident, Colleague, self or another. You must understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Home’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures. This full-time position will cover multiple care home and so therefore you must be able to drive, shared company vehicle provided
HC-One are looking for someone with effective engagement and communication with Residents, the Home Manager and other colleagues. You'll undertake general painting and decorating in all part of the Care Home as required, including but not limited to making good any damage prior to decoration, wallpapering, painting of walls, ceilings and fixtures and fittings. You will understand and ensure the implementation of the care home’s health and safety policy and emergency and fire procedures promoting safe working practise in the care home as well as ensuring all equipment used is clean and well maintained. You will also complete mandatory and specialist training related to your role, on or off site as and when required to maintain, update professional knowledge and competence.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and therefore it is important that you are able to recognise the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
