Nursing at HC-One

At HC-One, we are dedicated to improving the quality, diversity, and status of adult social care (ASC) nursing, by utilising our Nurses’ distinct expertise and clinical skills to understand the needs of each individual to deliver person-centred support.

Our team of dedicated colleagues enable people living with complex needs to maintain a sense of security, purpose, achievement and significance, helping them to live their best lives.

HC-One’s Nurses facilitate a person-centred approach to care and wellbeing, working closely with residents, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare professions to deliver quality care.

Ultimately, our Nurses support people with high levels of need and therefore make a significant contribution to health and social care agendas, including reduced hospital admissions, faster discharge, reablement, prevention and management of long-term and enduring conditions.

What do we look for in a Nurse at HC-One?

As a Registered Nurse, you will have in-depth knowledge of the needs of our residents and will be well placed to lead care planning across health and social care systems.

With experience of local healthcare services and social care organisations, you will be outward-looking and able to provide advice and support to residents and families. You will also have strong interpersonal skills and be confident in building relationships with external healthcare professionals, including GPs, hospital clinicians, social workers, and physio and occupational therapists.

You will show up for our residents the HC-One way, bringing to life our colleague qualities through your thoughtfulness, words and actions to help every moment count for those living in our homes.

How will HC-One support your career development?

We are committed to supporting and developing our Nurses at HC-One. As such, our award-winning Learning and Development team offers a range of opportunities to grow in your career, with a range of recognised courses and qualifications, and our unique Aspiring Home Manager Programme.

To support Nurses who are newly qualified or returning to practise, our Gold Standard Nursing Preceptorship Programme will help you confidently transition into your new role with HC-One, with dedicated one-to-one support from an experienced HC-One Nurse.

We also offer a variety of continuous professional development opportunities to support your PIN revalidation, and have a team dedicated to supporting you to uphold professional standards in practice. In addition, we recognise the importance of nursing leadership and will support you to work with and develop your teams, to ensure you have competent and confident care colleagues working alongside you.

Student Nurse placements

HC-One is pleased to offer Nursing Placement Opportunities for Nursing Students, provided in collaboration with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and NHS Practice Education Teams across the UK.

A placement with HC-One is an excellent opportunity for students to apply newly acquired knowledge, while practising and learning new key skills in an adult social care environment.

To ensure students are learning and practicing safely and with confidence, we provide a robust clinical governance framework and adhere to evidence-based clinical policies and procedures. Students will be assigned experienced Registered Nurses as practice assessors and practice supervisors and will also have the opportunity to learn from our Regional Senior Nurses who visit our homes regularly to provide guidance and support to our colleagues and students.

All care homes providing placement opportunities meet all regulatory requirements for Student Nurse learning environments and will already have learning agreements in place with the University and NHS.
