What does nursing look like at HC-One?

At HC-One, we are dedicated to improving the quality, diversity, and status of adult social care (ASC) nursing, which is strengthened by our reputation in the sector and our commitment to kind care.
We recognise that our Nurses have distinct expertise, as they utilise their clinical skills to understand the variety of needs of our Residents and therefore deliver person-centred support. By joining our team, you will recognise the importance of caring for each Resident as an individual, and enabling them to maintain a sense of security, purpose, achievement, and significance.
While all Registered Nurses (RNs) are expected to demonstrate leadership and act as role models, Nurses are responsible for people with complex needs, liaising with Residents, families, internal and external multi-disciplinary professionals to deliver excellent quality care.
Ultimately, our Nurses support people with high levels of need and therefore make a significant contribution to health and social care agendas, including hospital admission avoidance, early discharge, managing long-term and enduring conditions, prevention, reablement, and health and wellbeing.

How will HC-One support your career development?

At HC-One, we are dedicated to supporting our Colleagues to grow and develop their careers within our care homes.

The multi-faceted nature of your role means you will develop a wide range of transferable expertise with the need to be flexible, resourceful, and creative in finding solutions to effectively manage short, medium, and longer-term care solutions. As such, our team is proud to offer a wide range of dedicated professional development opportunities to support you to be all you can be in the dynamic, everchanging world of nursing in Adult Social Care.
We also recognise that the opportunity to progress is important to many of our Colleagues. As a Nurse in one of our care homes, you may aspire to develop your skills, embark on additional training programmes, gain additional responsibilities and work toward senior nursing or operational manager roles. Whatever your aspirations, we are proud to encourage and support our Colleagues’ learning and progression via our award-winning eLearning platform and a dedicated practice development team.

What do we look for in a Nurse at HC-One?

As a Registered Nurse, you will have in-depth knowledge of the needs of our Residents and will be well placed to lead care planning across health and social care systems.
With experience of local healthcare services and social care organisations, you are outward-looking and able to provide advice, signpost, or refer the Residents and loved ones you support, to appropriate help and assistance where required.
You will be confident in working across organisational boundaries and will use enhanced interpersonal skills, including negotiation, mediation, and advocacy, to navigate the layers of complexity that are often involved in accessing services. This will be achieved by building relationships and working collaboratively with key stakeholders, including GPs, hospital clinicians, dieticians, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.
HC-One have built an outstanding reputation within the care sector and are quickly becoming known as the first-choice care home in the local community. All of this would not be possible without values. Values and being valued is what makes working for HC-One a unique and rewarding experience.
