Gold Standard Nursing Preceptorship at HC-One
HC-One is pleased to be the only care provider in the UK to offer a Gold Standard Nursing Preceptorship Programme, as part of our commitment to supporting newly qualified, registered nurses and those returning to practice to enjoy a rewarding career in care, transitioning from new registrants to confident and competent practitioners.
Our Programme has been carefully designed in line with the NHS Gold Standard Framework for Preceptorship, as well as Scotland’s Flying Start Programme, to give our Nurses the best possible start to their career with HC-One.
By taking a personalised approach to learning, Nursing Preceptorship at HC-One caters to each individual’s needs and learning style and typically lasts for 6-12 months.
In addition, by joining HC-One’s Nursing Preceptorship Programme you can benefit from:
- A structured pattern of learning with an experienced HC-One Nurse.
- A bespoke Individual Learning Plan, personalised to each Preceptee to help develop your skills, confidence and their practice.
- Guidance on clinical and leadership competencies, equipping Nurses to become a Nurse in charge of a shift.
- Increased confidence and competence needed to help our residents lead their best lives.
- A robust support network of experienced Nurses, including an on-call system where a more senior Nurse is available 24/7 to offer advice or support to new Nurses on shift.
- Ongoing Learning and Development opportunities via our online learning platform and a range of recognised qualifications, supporting NMC revalidation.

National Preceptorship Programme Lead at NHS England said:
“Congratulations to HC-One on achieving the National Preceptorship Interim Quality Mark for Nursing. This is an excellent achievement, particularly as you are the first social care organisation to achieve the award, which demonstrates a clear commitment in caring for our newly registered Nurses.”
