Internal Events Manager

About The Role

The Events Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the development, execution, and ongoing success of internal events at HC-One, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s broader goals. This role is dedicated to creating innovative and engaging in-person, virtual, and hybrid events that foster collaboration among colleagues and strengthen connections to key organisational messages.

As a key member of the Internal Communications Team, the Events Manager not only drives impactful event experiences but also provides support across internal communications when needed. Additionally, this role carries managerial responsibilities, contributing to the team’s overall strategy and success.

Roles & Responsibilities

Event Planning & Delivery

  • Establish clear purpose, themes, and content for all events.
  • Lead end-to-end event planning for various event types, from large-scale company showcases (~£1M budget) to smaller sessions.
  • Source, contract, and manage venues for in-person events.
  • Confidently manage online/virtual meeting software, ensuring best practices for small- and large-scale online events.
  • Liaise with internal clients to determine event requirements and produce detailed timelines/production plans.
  • Manage VIPs, speakers, and hosts, ensuring smooth participation.
  • Brief internal design teams on promotional materials and branded assets.
  • Oversee event setup, on-site management, and breakdown (both online and offline).
  • Manage staff and AV production teams as needed.
  • If external event management is required, brief and collaborate with external agencies (though most events are managed internally).

Performance & Budget Management

  • Set measurable goals to assess event success.
  • Manage event budgets, ensuring value for money and effective supplier management.
  • Drive cost efficiency and develop sponsorship opportunities aligned with HC-One’s values.
  • Prepare post-event reports and evaluation surveys for feedback and continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Business Partnering

  • Work closely with the Head of Internal Communications, wider communications team, and colleagues across all functions to plan and execute events.
  • Identify key strategic objectives where events can drive collaboration and organisational goals.
  • Support regional events with a consultancy approach to ensure alignment with company-wide strategies.
  • Engage colleagues across all levels and functions to develop effective storytelling and data-driven content.
  • Partner with internal communications to create production plans for seamless event execution.

Strategic Development & Innovation

  • Support the Head of Internal Communications in developing and delivering an internal events strategy.
  • Establish best practices for online events and support procurement/business cases for new event platforms.
  • Develop a sponsorship strategy to create a corporate sponsor pipeline, reducing event costs while providing value for sponsors and attendees.
  • Recommend segmentation strategies to improve engagement and collaboration.
  • Ensure events align with HC-One’s purpose—supporting residents in their care to lead their best lives.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and experienced events professional with a passion for delivering engaging in-person, virtual, and hybrid events. They will be a confident communicator, skilled at managing multiple events while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Qualifications & Knowledge

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Event Management.

Skills & Experience

  • 2–4 years’ experience in B2B conferences/events.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple events, including those with 100–400 attendees and budgets of ~£1M.
  • Experience with event platforms, including apps and virtual tools.
  • End-to-end event management, from planning to execution.
  • Strong onsite leadership and problem-solving abilities.

This role requires a proactive team player who can deliver outstanding events that support HC-One’s goals and foster engagement across the business. While primarily home-based, the role involves frequent UK-wide travel for events, with all travel and accommodation covered.
