Being a Therapeutic Wellbeing Practitioner is an extremely rewarding role. Having spent time getting to know residents, and the significant people in their lives, Wellbeing Practitioners support residents to live every day in a meaningful and fulfilling way. This can mean life skills and tailored activities programmes focused on stimulating the body, mind and soul, along with supporting the personalisation of residents’ rooms to create a ‘room as your home’, helping to promote relationships and friendships, collating and using life story work, maintaining and encouraging interests, and preserving as much independence as possible, as well as engaging residents in spontaneous meaningful moments of conversation and fun. Promoting resident wellbeing at HC-One Scotland is a key goal. We know each of our residents need to feel valued and enjoy lifestyles that are uniquely tailored to them.
Your organisational skills and driven mind-set means that you will always get things done and make things happen. You will have lead responsibility for the effective delivery of ongoing assessment, planning, implementation, review and evaluation of wellbeing activity, and will be accountable for the use of a bespoke Wellbeing Assessment Tool to support meaningful lifestyles. You will attend the Case Review Meeting to report on the review of Personal Wellbeing Plans and wellbeing activity.
Overall, your enthusiasm and creativity will inspire Colleagues to get involved in the day-to-day wellbeing of residents by helping to support them to live the life they want, as well as receiving the care they need. You will be a role model to colleagues taking them on the journey with you, resulting in recognition that wellbeing is a part of everyone's jobs
HC-One is looking for someone with a background in working with vulnerable individuals, ideally developing activity programmes, with knowledge and experience of dementia care and wellbeing who knows the value of meaningful occupation and social interaction. In return, you will enjoy access to a huge variety of benefits and services to support your physical and psychological well-being and we will invest in you throughout your career as a Therapeutic Wellbeing Practitioner.
Through our sector-leading, tiered Dementia Care Learning and Development programme, we will equip you with the skills and expertise needed to provide residents with the best possible support. Delivered through both e-learning and face-to-face sessions, the programme covers topics such as communication, empathy, relationships and inclusion in dementia care, including caring for those with complex needs, enabling you to enjoy a rewarding career as an experienced specialist in dementia care.
